FREE Open Access WIFI now at The Bridge

Follow these instructions to connect:

WIFI ON A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET

  1. Go to device “Settings” and ensure “WiFi” is turned “On”
  2. “Under “Settings” -> “WiFi” choose the ”@VAST” network then close “Settings”
  3. Select and open your preferred web browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox)
  4. If the VAST landing page does not appear enter in any website address (such as www.google.co.za) and press enter
  5. The “VAST” landing page will appear:
    1. Click on “Complimentary Access” or choose your Preferred Provider
    2. Complete the information as requested, scroll down if required
    3. Click on “Connect”

You should now be connected – web browsing and email downloading can now take place. 

WIFI ON A MAC OPERATING SYSTEM

  1. Click on the Apple icon on the top left of your screen
  2. Select “System Preferences”
  3. Choose “Network”
  4. Select “Airport” or “Wi-Fi” and click on “@VAST” wireless under the heading “network name”
  5. Click “Apply”
  6. Select and open your preferred Web Browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox)
  7. If the VAST landing page does not appear enter in any website address (such as www.google.co.za) and press/click enter
  8. The “VAST” landing page should appear:
    1. Click on “Complimentary Access” or choose Your Prefered Provider
    2.  Complete the information as requested, scroll down if required
    3.  Click on “Connect”

You should now be connected – web browsing and email downloading can take place.

WIFI ON A LAPTOP/NOTEBOOK

  1. Go to device “Settings” and ensure “WiFi” is turned “On” or press the “WiFi button” on your device
  2. Under “Settings” -> “WiFi” choose the ”@VAST” network
    1. The laptop will prompt that additional information is required
  3. Select and open your preferred Web Browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox)
  4. If the VAST landing page does not appear enter in any website address (such as www.google.co.za) and press enter
  5. The “VAST” landing page should appear:
    1. Click on “Complimentary Access” or choose Your Preferred Provider
    2. Complete the information as requested, scroll down if required
    3. Click on “Connect”
    4. You should now be connected – web browsing and email downloading can take place. If not, proceed to step 6.
  6. For corporate owned laptops, if the “VAST” landing page does not appear confirm the proxy settings are disabled by:
    1. From within the Control Panel, open “Internet Options”, choose “Connections”, choose “LAN Settings”: Under Proxy Server, untick “Use Proxy Server for your LAN” ”, Click on Ok, then Click on “Apply” and Ok
    2. Refresh the browser by closing it and re-opening.

The default “VAST” landing page will appear. If not, type www.google.co.za and enter

  1. Click on “Complimentary Access”
  2. Complete the information as requested, scroll down if required
  3. Click on “Connect”

   You should now be connected – web browsing and email downloading can take place.
